Re: Motor Parts

Managed to get all the holes filled. Fitting the rings was a bigger job than expected. The ring filler made it much easier. I also bought a tapered ring compressor while it only fits the 4.155 bore makes me wonder why I waited so long to get one.

Re: The Red Car

Down to the last. The nose is all fixed and ready to take to paint.
Here are a few pictures of the Hood scoop crack. I'm not the first person to be there either.

Re: The Red Car

I'll have another couple of days on it.
Had to get it done so I can go back to my motor. Body and engine work just don't play nice together.

I still need to do the spot on the scoop. And we need to talk about the oil cooler horizontal baffle. I'll call you around Tuesday.

Re: The Red Car

Made good progress today. First coat of Poly primer/sealer. Ill give it a good sanding and another coat. That should about rap it up. Ken Tom, The first picture is of the undamaged center section of the radiator opening. I kept running into repair cloth here and there. It could be from piecing toget...

Re: The Red Car

Still moving along on the repairs.
I have the right side of the grill/radiator opening ready for primer. The lift side is still a bit of a work in progress but it has come a long way.
I hope to have it ready to prep for priming tomorrow....depending on how things block out.

Re: The Red Car

Tom, I found the source of the "white stuff" you found on the floor. Your glass body is laminated While it does has quite a thick layer of glass, under the glass is spray foam, for lack of a better term. Then a thin layer of glass. It's this foam that blew up and fell on the floor. This is the unexp...

The Red Car

Tom dropped off his Cobra today. While I had a good time with "show and tell" in my garage I think he was a little nervous with the process. But I can under stand..Its a lot like remodeling the kitchen, things start to look real bad before the get better. While I did find an unexpected issue or two ...

Re: Motor Parts

Not much visual to show. All of the cylinders have their notches for the rods to clear. I'm almost finished form fitting the crank scraper. I did have a little disappointment thou. While the 400 2 bolt block has wider and stronger main webbing than the 4 bolt I had planned to use studs instead of bo...

Re: Motor Parts

Not sure...it really is almost done except for the assembly. I just have to keep motivated. I figure that I can make good time on it while the fiberglass resin is drying on Tom's car.

Tom asked me to try to attach multi photos..so these are reruns.
