Re: Kens Cobra vers. 2.0

Tnx Tom. I’m almost at the point that buying a crate engine might have been a wiser choice. BUT half of the fun in the hobby for me is building the components and having something that is a little different than all the rest. And after having had 500 HP I just didn’t want to go back even thoug...

Re: Kens Cobra vers. 2.0

Things were going good for the new motor. Until I got all the parts to the machine shop, I was hopeful to be able to use the pistons but they are just over the line to be sensible to put in the motor. Re: Kens Cobra vers. 2.0

Re: Kens Cobra vers. 2.0

I decided to set the rod to block clearances in the new Dart block. So I put the crank in with the two end main caps and the bearings from the broken block. Then I grabbed a piston assy and tried to put the piston and rod into the block.....forgetting that the piston is .030 over size and the cylind...

Re: Kens Cobra vers. 2.0

Cobra update While I have the car on the lift I took the time to clean the oil deposited from the holes in the oil pan from the underside of the car. While I’m waiting for the engine parts I’ve started the process to repair the front body nose section of the car. Here’s a few pics. Lights and bumper...

Re: Kens Cobra vers. 2.0

The new TKX is all fitted and ready for the new motor to replace the plastic mockup block. I was able to reuse my old mount I just flipped it over, shortened it 3/4" and moved it forward about 2".I did have to move the shifter hole about 2" also, I just used a big hole saw and cut abo...
