Zephyr fuel pump & tank for EFI

Post by Tom Wells »

I used a new Spectra Premium F2A fuel tank. It uses a 1-5/8" diameter filler pipe with a new grommet at the tank.

The fuel pump is an Aeromotive Phantom 18688 setup which incorporates its own foam sump, effectively preventing the pickup from running dry.

Here is the tank:

The sender is from a Mustang and doesn't really work very well - there is a place that restores the originals. Here's the old 4eye forum link: http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthread. ... -revisited

And the fuel tank info: http://www.gastanks.com/1978-81-Cougar- ... info/F-2A/ and the http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthread. ... 9-MUSTMONT

I used the F2A and hole-sawed the pump location. I think the hole saw came with the kit?

I would leave some -6AN hose attached to the pump and vent so after the tank is in place you can join the hose to lead to the engine compartment. The fittings are nearly impossible to get to if the tank is in place.

Last but not least I think you can still get new straps for the tank.

Hope this helps!
