If you haven't been, it's well worth it! I've been and would go again this year except for a family trip out of the country...
The event started around 2000 with a bet among fewer than a dozen people about who could make the best chocolate chip cookies. It was originally called the Double Venom Spring Fling after Ed Combs, who issued the chocolate chip cookie challenge and who built a Viper V-10 powered Cobra AKA Double Venom. They had a bit of money left over from the first show which they decided to donate to a charity. Because Dave Smith's (Factory Five Racing) daughter was afflicted with cystic fibrosis, that charity was selected.
The show was later transferred to the Ohio Cobra Club and has become the largest private donor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, contributing more than $1.3MM over the years. The Flings we attended had 300+ Cobras present - no idea how many this year, but sure to be lots and lots. A spectacular parade into London.
The London Cobra Show dates are June 20, 21 and 22, 2019 and the host hotel is the Crowne Plaza Columbus-Dublin Ohio.
