Tires for the wagon

I'm needing tires for the wagon so I'm looking for the "best" tire and the "best" place to get them. So far I've settled on a 245/40/17 Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec. It's a 200 wear rating tire, and is the newer version of the tire presently installed. Any advice on other tire op...

London Cobra Show 6/22-24/2017

Ken just said he's going to the London Cobra Show this year, which reminds me to post a recommendation to the rest of you that it's necessary for every Cobra driver to make at least one pilgrimage there. Details are here: https://www.londoncobrashow.com/ I've been a couple of times and wouldn't trad...

Re: Daytona/SCCA PDX May 5, 2017

Ken,

I used Harold Schlangmann's iPhone app called Laptimer on my iPhone SE. It was stuck to the inside of the windshield with a big suction cup. The g-force was taken from the phone's accelerometer and the speed was from its gps.

Fun is the correct description!

Re: Daytona/SCCA PDX May 5, 2017

Elder, I was running Kumho V710 racing slicks. I did notice yesterday when I put the street tires back on that the wear patterns on the slicks front and rear were not out to the full width of the tread, much less the little arrows just over the shoulders. I measured 3/4" at each side that wasn'...

Here's the link to the video for Lap 2, about 3 minutes worth: https://youtu.be/MMSxSrVKAaw

I have the whole thing, but at 22 minutes it would be boring to anyone else but me :ymblushing:

SCCA-CFR District 7 Meeting, Daytona Beach, May 9, 2017

On Tuesday, 5/9/2017 have a bite to eat at 6 PM, attend the meeting at 7 PM for the SCCA-CFR District 7. This is the organization I ran with at Daytona yesterday. They have track days and competitive car events for almost any kind of auto racing interest except maybe drag racing. Read about it here:...

Re: Daytona/SCCA PDX May 5, 2017

Went to Daytona in the wagon and ran one session. Afterward, didn't like the water temp at 220, oil pressure below 30 and loud metallic noise during turn six, so opted not to run more sessions. Good news is it ran 133mph, and I had a ball, and it went home under its own power with no noises, good oi...

Re: ClubCobra dead again? (Seems OK now)

Interesting coincidence?

I put up this note about an hour after I e-mailed Brent saying there has been a problem for about the last day.

I do notice a gap in posts on that site from 5:55AM yesterday to 9:00AM today (Pacific time).

I got in just now, too.
