Re: Mike's GT40 gets redone

I spent some time reworking/reinstalling the bulkhead window. It was a bit of a mess the way it was originally installed by the PO. Lots of drilling, tapping and clearancing was required. Got frustrated and took a few days off. What a PITA, it took more time and effort than it should’ve, but now it’...

Re: Mike's GT40 gets redone

You are correct Tom, those studs should be a touch longer, but I’m not going to mess with them for now. They fall into the “keep an eye on them” category…😉

Re: Mike's GT40 gets redone

Today’s expended effort was in the engine bay rerouting and re-clamping cable runs, eliminating chafes, general neatening/cleaning, etc…tomorrow will be more of the same, and then re-configuring the remote oil filter lines. Should be fun… 8-)

Re: Mike's GT40 gets redone

Reinstalled the clutch and bell housing yesterday. Thanks to William for loaning me the correct clutch alignment tool! Today I cleaned the accumulated grunge off the ZF and mated it to the bell housing. Now that the drivetrain is in RFI status, I can devote my efforts to getting the chassis r...

Re: Mike's GT40 gets redone

It had to be, but I don’t think it was far enough out to ever have been a real problem. Just trying to make sure it won’t be a problem down the road.

Re: Mike's GT40 gets redone

I’ve been chasing my tail for a few days, but I think I can now declare victory. Made the first shim out of .016” brass plate along with a few thinner aluminum shims for the side bolts, but that turned out to be a bit too thick, and the parallelism numbers were still beyond spec. I bought some .010”...

Re: Is it just me? Or is clubcobra dead again?

It’s deader’n a door nail, been down hard for three days now. It’s been limping along for years, but recent months it’s been on life support. They’ve called for a priest…😏

Re: Lakeland cruise-in March 2, 2024 DSCC

Weather not looking good for tomorrow Tom, at least starting out here in St Aug. Lakeland weather is only calling for a cloudy day. Of greater importance, I took the cover off the cobra to start it up and move it onto the driveway, and to air up to the tires, but found my left front tire flat. I air...
