Finalized the battery install today. I went with a Braille lightweight AGM battery primarily because of its small size. It’s so small in fact, that I had to shim it with a block of wood and a couple of foam rubber blocks. It also precluded me from having to enlarge the opening. I needed to modify the cables for a better install.

I finished it off with a nice polycarbonate cover. The only thing left to do is to figure out the best way to route the battery minder wires and connector.

The expansion and overflow tanks were a bit of a nipple twister to reconfigure and install, but one more task checked off the list. I made a few hard lines to connect the vent lines and the tanks together. Finished up a bunch of tidy-up tasks too.

The focus now will be to get the motor and trans reinstalled… 8-)

Major milestone today! William and his dad Heath came over this afternoon to help wrangle the drivetrain back in place. It was a bit challenging, but it’s back in and now I can focus on getting all the peripherals back in place. Still a lot to do, but this is the fun part…😎

Making good progress. I have most of the electrical system reconnected. Torqued all of the motor/trans hardware. Reconnected the shifter brackets/cables and the hydraulic clutch hose.

Refit the AC compressor brackets, and realigned the pulleys with shim washers. Had to make a few trips to O’Reilly’s to get the correct size belt. The original belt was too big after replacing the water pump pulley with a smaller diameter unit. Still plenty to do, but the list is getting shorter every day… 8-)

Today I reinstalled the rear sway bar, and made new -10 hoses to connect the oil filter sandwich adapter to the chassis bulkhead fittings going to the remote oil filters. I didn’t have a 1” crowfoot, so I had to modify a 7/8” crowfoot to tighten the fittings.

I also started mocking up the dipstick, and the radiator hoses below the motor. Progress…
