Lunch Ride

Post by cobra1151 »

Hey Guys,

My son Derek is flying down from ( R.I.) and arriving on Sunday Feb. 2nd and leaving on Saturday Feb. 8th . That's next week. Although he has driven my Cobra many times he has yet to experience the thrill of a number of them in a group. It would be wonderful if a few of you could join us for a lunch ride sometime during his stay. Tom said he is in . ..] So is anyone else up to making my son's visit a truly memorable one ?

Much appreciated,

Carl

I'm in, if the weather cooperates and the date works. Post an update when it gets closer and plans are finalized... Bob

Hi Ken,

He is arriving on Sunday and leaving on the following Saturday so the lunch ride has to be during the week Mon. thru Fri.
I am watching the weather and the first part of the week looks best so far.
I know this makes it difficult for the people that are working but I have no control over that.
I will decide on a day tomorrow ( Friday ) so we will have time to prepare. I'll check the weather forcast tomorrow to
pick the best day next week.

The Restaurant Tom has suggested is a fried chicken place north of Jacksonville on rt.17 I believe the name is Steffens. Sounds good to me it will accommodate our friends to the north. If anyone else has any suggestions they are welcome.

Hey guys,

So here are the details on the lunch ride.

The day is this Monday Feb.3rd the weather looks great.

For those of you that are leaving from the St. Augustine area.
We will meet at the Winn Dixie Plaza just south of the St. Johns County offices at 10am for introductions.
We leave the plaza around 10:30am
We will then continue on to the Avenues Mall.

For those of you from the Jacksonville area.
We will meet you at the Avenues Mall around 11am on the east side of Sears.
After introductions we will leave around 11:30 for Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.

Our destination is the Salty Pelican restaurant.
My wife Nancy and I have been there a number of times, good food in a seaside atmosphere.
There is plenty of parking across the street in the municipal parking lot which is free.

Hope to see y'all on Monday,

Carl

Sorry Carl. I got confused on the two lunch runs.
If I survive Sunday I'll try to do Monday too.
