I would guess this is why we should check things now and then. I wasn’t really feeling any issues, with the thumper cam it shakes and fumbles around anyway.

It had been a while sense I changed plugs and I only check the two easy to get to ones to see how the carb is doing.
So I thought I would put a set in and do a compression test to see if my puff of oil smoke was deeper trouble. And found this.

As you can see there is something different between these two plugs.
I only checked 6 cylinders as the two at the rear are very hard to get a plug in let alone the compression gauge hose.
All are good including the broken plug hole. The thing still has 245lb compression. Big number.

Your gas mileage should have just gone up 12.5%

And the car should be much more pleasant to follow (holding nose)...

Ken, that looks more like a broken electrode than an eroded one. You may have a clearance issue with that piston.

I agree that I has broken. Don't know if it is a clearance problem but I don't think so I think it is a part defect. But If it happens again I'll know then.
