A Duke University Associate Professor of Biology will make a presentation titled
From Fast to Ultra-Fast: The Biological World of Extreme Movement
Dr. Patek will talk about the fastest movements found in organisms, including that of the mantis shrimp, a marine predator that has the fastest feeding strike measured of any animal.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Registration or reservations are not necessary.
They usually last about an hour. I've been to similar lectures there and they have been top-notch!
The lecture is at the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience at 7PM Thursday, March 16, 2017 across from Marineland on A1A south. Their address is 9505 Ocean Shore Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080
I'm planning to go. Anyone else up for this? We could meet there, or I have plenty of extra seats in the van. I'd leave my house no later than 6PM
